The formlines held up in the final of the BoyleSports Irish Greyhound Derby at Shelbourne Park on Saturday night as 3-10 favourite Bockos Diamond was crowned champion after recording his 15th consecutive victory.
Racing from trap six, the track record holder led by the first bend, and it was an advantage the son of Dorotas Wildcat never relinquished.
Bockos Diamond crossed the line in 29.25 seconds to give trainer Graham Holland a record-equalling fourth victory in the race, with kennelmate Cheap Sandwiches and Callaway Knegare filling the minor places.
Holland, who won the contest with Rural Hawaii in 2016, Lenson Bocko in 2019 and Newinn Taylor in 2020, now ranks alongside Tom Lynch and Gay McKenna in the pantheon of training greats in the history of Irish greyhound racing's most prestigious race.
